JEFA Tech® Low Loss 400 FLEX is a high-performance alternative to Times Microwave Systems LMR®-400UF coaxial cable. Low Loss 400 FLEX is recommended for applications where the coax cable will be in motion, for example, beam antennas that are on a rotator, or patch cables to go from your patch panel to radio equipment. The stranded center conductor and flexible jacket allow the cable to flex easily. Continuous flexing will not compromise the integrity of the cable.

  • Center Conductor - 19 strands of 100% Bare Copper 10 AWG
  • Outer Diameter: 0.405" (same as RG-8, RG-213/U, LMR®-400, LMR®-400UF)
  • Jacket: Low Density Polyethylene - UV Protection, Weatherproof, Direct Bury
  • Shielding: Double Shielded for low loss and interference rejection
  • First Shield: Bonded aluminum foil with 100% coverage
  • Second Shield: Tinned 100% copper braid with 95% coverage density
  • Gas Injected Foam PE Dielectric - adds to flexibility and performance
  • 5-year warranty, 20+ year life expectancy

As of November 2025, the following changes to the construction of this cable have been made based on years of experience and customer feedback:

  • Center Conductor: 7 bare copper strands -> 19 bare copper strands = Greater flexibility and performance, easier connector attachment
  • Jacket: TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) -> LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) = Tougher, Direct Bury Capable
  • All other characteristics of the cable remain the same

Note that you are trading a small amount of performance to gain flexibility vs LL400 / LMR®-400. For maximum performance in a permanent (non-moving) installation, standard Low Loss 400 (LL400) with the solid center conductor is recommended. For installations that will have the cable in motion such as around a rotor, Low Loss 400 FLEX is recommended.
